Quick Facts About Parent University

What does it cost?

Parent Scholarships are available for all sessions for parents who register through SUPAC. The fees to attend are $15 a session or $75 for all six sessions. This fee covers the cost of food and materials. As these sessions are presented in a classroom format, space is limited and registrations will be accepted on a fi rst come, fi rst serve basis. When the sessions are full, a waiting list will be created in the event space becomes available.

Where will it take place?

Goldstein Student Center and Skybarn are both located on Skytop Road on SU's South Campus. Free parking is available at both sites and are on Centro buslines.

What if I only want to come to a few of the sessions?

Please note that you MUST attend the fi rst class session if you want to attend any other sessions. It is strongly recommended that you attend all six sessions. However, if you are unable to do so, or if you are only interested in selected class sessions, indicate this when you register.

What will I get?

Participants who attend all six sessions will receive a Parent University Core Training Certificate. You will not receive this Certificate unless you attend all sessions. Upon completion of Parent University, you will be provided with the knowledge and skills to effectively advocate for your own child and will be empowered to assist others in navigating and understanding the special  education system.

What if I need accommodations?

Any accommodations for a disability necessary for you to attend will be made upon request.
Since accommodations may require early planning, please contact us as soon as possible.

What else do I need to know?

Complete information on Parent University, including registration, will be made available online.  Please contact SUPAC if you have any questions or concerns.
